Team OverviewThe Edward Jones Generations® team provides an end-to-end, high net worth (HNW) client experience by partnering with our branch teams to provide ongoing client services including holistic financial planning, tax and estate planning services via trusted 3rd parties, plan implementation via expanding sets of Edward Jones products and services, and ongoing reporting and support.
What You Will DoAs the leader of the Estate Planning team, you will oversee a group of highly skilled subject matter experts with advanced designations who support branch teams and manage complex client engagements. This team plays a critical role in delivering the Edward Jones Generations Private Wealth experience by enhancing client outcomes and deepening relationships. In partnership with senior planners and financial advisors, the team serves as an estate planning expert to uncover, assess, and articulate estate planning opportunities in line with client needs.
Additionally, the leader will manage relationships with integrated third-party law firms, ensuring the delivery of strategies, recommendations, and implementation support. This position requires fostering a collaborative, fast-paced environment that embraces innovation to consistently exceed client expectations. The team leader is responsible for day-to-day operations, including maintaining alignment with written supervisory procedures (WSPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and overseeing risk associated with direct client and branch interactions.
Furthermore, the leader will hold the team accountable for achieving business objectives and ensuring all estate planning recommendations are suitable and aligned with client goals.
- Develop and execute team objectives and drive team performance (feedback, training & coaching) in support of department and firm objectives.
- Lead the strategy to evolve and set team guidance on presenting complex concepts in an understandable and actionable manner to home-office associates, branch teams and clients to provide customized solutions.
- Coach team members on their estate planning delivery including collaboration with Generations colleagues, written estate planning summaries, and client interactions.
- Act as an advanced subject matter expert in estate planning and translate to strategic initiatives within various business areas to identify, create, and develop the most advanced client-focused ideas.
- Act as a resource for firm strategy, knowledge and interpretation of industry rules and regulations, and potential rule changes as it relates to area of expertise and translates to strategic initiatives within various business areas.
- As an estate subject matter expert, present to branches through channels such as webinars and field-based training meetings; may include content development and acting as a subject matter expert for formal training programs.
- Lead department, division, and/or firm-wide committees and projects; demonstrate the ability to influence without authority with peers and senior leaders.
- Manage, create, and ensure adherence to department WSPs and SOPs for communication with the public, professional designation reviews, and information barriers.
- Review and approve client-facing materials to ensure they are fair, balanced, and aligned with client goals and suitability given the client’s full financial picture.
