Financial Accountant

Job Title: Financial AccountantLocation: Edinburgh City Centre (Hybrid - 3 days in office)Contract: 6 MonthsSalary: £50,000 PAYE equivalent

I am working with a dynamic business in Edinburgh City Centre who are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join on a 6-month contract in Edinburgh City Centre. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from home for part of the week while collaborating in the office for key activities.

You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. You will also work closely with operational teams, providing insight to support business decision-making.

• Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments

• Produce monthly management accounts and assist with financial reporting

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts

• Support month-end and year-end close activities

• Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting

• Provide support for budgeting and forecasting

• Collaborate with other teams to provide financial insight and ensure accurate reporting

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close

• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

• Competitive PAYE contract rate of £50,000 equivalent
