The vibrant Ageas Corporate Centre in Brussels is home to a variety of Group level functions including, amongst others, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Strategy, Business Development and Corporate Communications. It sets out the long‑term strategy for Ageas and coordinates numerous initiatives across the Group to help realise the strategic ambitions. The Corporate Centre also facilitates knowledge and skills sharing amongst its local operating entities and JV’s, creating strong connections and leveraging on local strengths.
It represents the Ageas Group towards external parties, managing relations with analysts, retail and institutional investors, regulators, rating agencies and the media.
We are looking for a senior risk modeller with both a solid quantitative background, as well as good knowledge of financial markets and the insurance industry. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team composed of financial and actuarial professionals whose main task is to ensure the development and embedding of Group models and policies related to Market Risk. Your tasks will be situated in the following domains:
- Lead, design and maintain Group’s models for economic capital (Solvency II Standard Formula and Internal Model) for Market Risk.
- You do quantitative research & formulate methodological approaches for forecasting financial risk factors based on evolving model requirements.
- Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of Real-World Economic Scenario Generation.
- You perform model runs on a quarterly and ad-hoc basis, in a manner consistent with the requirements of our internal clients.
- You design & enhance model test an ongoing basis to validate the model’s outcomes.
- Lead a technical team within corporate centre - setting targets, assigning roles & responsibilities.
- You communicate openly & transparently on the model’s features, capabilities & properties to engage the wider Ageas community.
- You have a Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative subject, e.g. mathematics, physics, econometrics, quantitative finance, actuarial science:
- You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience working in the financial industry (insurance, banking, asset management);
- You have knowledge of Financial Markets, Financial Valuation & Modelling, Market Risk Management, Financial Regulation (Solvency II);
- Experience & proven competence in implementing mathematical models in Excel VBA, MATLAB, R, Python…;
- You are culturally aware and able to work in team with people with different backgrounds;
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and orally and are able to present complex materials in a structured and comprehensive way;
- You are strongly motivated to learn, proactive, flexible, dedicated and able to work on an independent basis;
- You possess strong coordination, planning and organizational skills;
- You are a result-oriented problem solver;
- You have an active (written and oral) knowledge of English (French or Dutch is a plus).
