Team/Role Overview
Bank Network Management is part of the SMB&IC Operations & Technology (O&T) Division. BNM provides best‑in‑class banking services to our business partners and clients, while strengthening regulatory compliance, governance, and control over Citi‑owned bank accounts. BNM global functions include:
Relationship Management, Regulatory, Bank Expense Optimization, Bank Signatory Management (BSM), Third‑Party Risk, and In‑Business Risk & Control. The Relationship function manages relationships with agent banks to provide transparency, governance, and control over real‑world bank accounts held globally, both with affiliates and 3rd‑party banks. The Senior Network Manager (SNM) position covers the Agent Bank Relationships on behalf of Citi Markets businesses.
you'll do
- Establish the bank/custody account infrastructure required to support various Markets businesses.
- Conduct RfPs to identify and assess the ability of banks or custodians to support activity in scope.
- Consult businesses and other interested parties (operations, legal, tax, regulatory, etc.) on market practices and capabilities; assist on establishing new products; report regulatory/market changes to interested parties and the potential impact to their businesses.
- Coordinate closely with many areas of the Firm (Trading Desks, Securities Operations, Treasury Operations, Legal, Tax & Compliance) and maintain significant external contact with banks, industry organizations and internal regulators.
- Negotiate fees and manage service levels to ensure best pricing and service for the Firm.
- Negotiate and complete documentation (SLAs, BCP, and legal agreements) required for the establishment of relationships and the opening of accounts, and for ongoing maintenance and management of that documentation.
- Conduct formal due diligence on agent banks in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accounts are maintained in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Act as a senior escalation point within Citi and the Relationship team with respect to Agent Management.
- Manage or actively participate in various projects involving the Network Management team, either at the market, regional, or global level.
- Provide full‑service support for the USPB Citi Mortgage Business.
- BA/BS degree and experience in the international securities industry (Network Management, Securities/Custody Operations, Custody/Clearance Sales or Relationship Management).
- Good working knowledge of securities settlement process & custody operations, cash management/services, foreign exchange, payments and derivatives (including futures).
- Experience managing bank relationships, fee negotiation, account opening, documentation and the corresponding regulatory considerations.
- Working knowledge of SWIFT (admin, system, and industry initiatives) is a plus.
- Highly motivated self‑starter able to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
- Experience with in large‑scale, cross‑business projects and strong project‑management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent analytical, communication and presentation abilities.
- Experience facilitating large change initiatives and working within a large global matrix organization.
- Proven senior‑level relationship skills and time‑management expertise to manage many projects concurrently.
