JSS Tax are hiring for a Group Tax Manager for a leading international renewable energy company based in Central London (supporting up to 4 days per week remote working)
This is a full-time permanent role paying circa £90k-£110k plus bonus and benefits package.
Reporting to the CFO, the Group Tax Manager will take ownership of the tax affairs of the business globally in a stand-alone role, with the support of external advisors.
As such this person will look after all direct taxes and indirect taxes globally. Most of the compliance is outsourced and therefore this person will spend the majority of their time on tax strategy, tax planning, business partnering, advisory and project work.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as a trusted advisor on new business initiatives and transactions, providing practical, commercially minded tax guidance on new ventures, restructurings, and cross-border activities.
- Partner with senior leaders to define and execute a clear tax strategy, balancing efficiency with a strong focus on risk management across all jurisdictions.
- Stay on top of international statutory reporting requirements and foreign exchange regulations, ensuring compliance while anticipating their impact on financial and tax processes.
- Design, implement, and maintain the group’s international tax and transfer pricing framework, including policies, documentation, and benchmarking.
- Oversee corporate and income tax compliance, coordinating internal teams and external advisors to deliver accurate and timely tax filings in line with local and international requirements.
- Manage indirect taxes, including VAT/GST and customs duties, by ensuring the right data, classifications, and processes are in place for compliant and timely reporting.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with tax authorities, regulators, and external advisors to support open communication and efficient issue resolution.
- Lead tax documentation, audits, and reporting, strengthening governance, controls, and processes to support a robust tax framework.
The business is looking for a qualified tax specialist (ACA / CTA / ICAS etc) with international tax experience and strong communication and commercial skills.
Prior in-house experience is beneficial, as is international experience covering both Africa and Asia.
