Tax Compliance Officer

Description/Synopsis:

A boutique tax consulting firm is looking for a driven Tax Compliance Officer to join their expanding team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home 3 days a week while providing hands‑on experience with individual tax clients.

The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, highly organised, and experienced in navigating SARS procedures and tax regulations. You will ensure clients remain fully compliant, manage tax calculations, audits, disputes, and serve as a trusted point of contact for individual tax matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to grow their career with a supportive and collaborative team.

• BCom degree in Finance or Tax – mandatory
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax compliance, preferably with individual tax clients
• Strong knowledge of SARS procedures and tax regulations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Tax Practitioner certification beneficial but not required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office and tax compliance software

• Prepare and submit Individual Tax and Provisional Tax calculations for clients
• Manage SARS audits, disputes, and complaints efficiently
• Ensure full tax compliance for all clients
• Manage daily email correspondence and maintain the client database
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax queries
• Attend SARS appointments as required
• Provide other related tax services as needed
