Position Type:
Full Time.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000.
Shift: Day.
This position is responsible for all financial and oversight of the hotel’s general ledger operations, supporting the hotel Finance Team. The role also ensures efficient operation of the Accounting department in line with DDC standards while meeting guest and owner expectations.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month‑end reports, and reconciliations.
- Review preliminary financial statements.
- Lead monthly financial reviews on property, analyze information, and present reports.
- Supervise Accounting staff, including coaching, counseling, interviewing, training, conducting one‑on‑one and monthly meetings, and evaluating performance.
- Oversee hotel on‑site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis.
- Manage hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and cash management; analyze financial data.
- Perform system administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings, and full P&L responsibilities.
- Assist with managing SOX compliance and completing the year‑end audit process.
- Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers.
- Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
- Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements.
- Investigate, review, and analyze variance explanations with department staff.
- Take initiative to manage troubleshooting for cost controls and revenue enhancement.
- Assist the General Manager with special reporting and analysis projects.
- Present financial data to the ownership group and to the DDC Home office monthly and quarterly.
- Be fully and solely responsible for hotel accounting compliance (procedures, results, reporting) as mandated by State and Federal government.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Compute and record numbers accurately.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, problem‑solving, and financial analysis skills.
- Efficient data entry and use of calculator or personal computer.
- Prior experience with MICROS, Hotel Effectiveness, Paycom, Property Management Systems (Pep, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
- Strong ability to present data to ownership and receive feedback.
- High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, and exceptional customer service orientation.
- Effective communication, detail orientation, and commitment to improving the bottom line.
- Close and distance vision.
- Frequent sitting with some walking and standing.
- Frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Accounting/Finance degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel/resort, supervised multiple accounting team members.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
