Senior Commercial Surety Underwriter

• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities
• Financial and account analysis of pertinent financial data, authority, and referral requirements for consideration of new, existing and renewal business
• Requesting and gathering financial information on assigned accounts
• Market independently to our agent and broker partners with an emphasis on production
• Enhance IAT’s presence in the marketplace
• Provide quality recommendations to Branch and Home Office Reports on assigned accounts and agents
• Rate and review bonds for premium and classification accuracy
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of files and verify that all necessary documentation is complete in the file
• Serve as key contact for assigned target accounts.
• Prioritize workflow to ensure work is done in a timely fashion and all deadlines are met
• Perform other duties as needed

Must-Have:

• Bachelor’s degree, at least 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Equivalent is defined as 8 years of relevant bond underwriting experience.
• Must have two years of surety underwriting experience.
• Passion for marketing and developing relationships.
• Strong competency in quantitative and financial analysis.
• Requires strong math aptitude, excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Must be customer service oriented and have the utmost integrity.
• To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

• AFSB industry designation.

Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $163,270 – $137,880. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit‑sharing opportunities, and more.
