Overview
This Michigan Gaming Control Board position offers an initial $1,250 signing bonus and a $1,250 retention bonus for new State of Michigan employees after one year of satisfactory service. The bonus must be paid back if the employee leaves the department prior to completing one year. This role plans and performs financial and compliance audits of internet gaming, internet sports betting, and fantasy contests conducted under the Lawful Internet Gaming Act of 2019, the Lawful Sports Betting Act of 2019, and the Fantasy Contests Consumer Protection Act of 2019, as well as internal controls for operators and platform providers.
Responsibilities- Plan and perform financial and compliance audits of internet gaming, internet sports betting, and fantasy contests.
- Apply the statutory and regulatory frameworks that govern the gaming industry.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with agency stakeholders and audit partners.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits.
- One year of professional experience auditing accounting, financial, and operations records (Auditor 10) or equivalent.
- Two years of professional experience including one year equivalent to an Auditor 10 (Auditor P11).
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification may be substituted for six months of experience at the P11 level.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification may be substituted for one year of Auditor experience.
