Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the computing and reporting FLA policy reserves (stat, tax & other) and supporting information, assuring accuracy of records and controls.
  • Helping to maintain all company financial models including cash flow models as well as projection models used to support the modeling of US Statutory and Canadian regulatory standards.
  • Validate the source data used as input into various calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation of various reports as required to interpret financial results.
  • Perform financial analysis and provide actuarial modeling support on other projects as needed by the Actuarial department including annual state filings, new product implementation and pricing, etc.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of developing and maintaining life insurance reserves and related financial accounts.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple functions.
  • Ability to effectively work with external parties.
  • Knowledge of Life Insurance products, operations and systems.
  • Ability to work with financial and actuarial information with high integrity of results.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Statistics and Actuarial Science.
  • Working towards the Associateship of the Society of Actuaries designation.
  • Strategic thinking ability combined with an ability to work at a detailed level.
Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office products, particularly Excel and MS Access.
