Tax Manager — Hybrid/Remote
A growing, entrepreneurial accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its expanding Private Client practice. This is an opportunity for a strong tax leader to step into a visible role, collaborate closely with senior leadership, and accelerate their career trajectory in a firm where mentorship, long‑term development, and high‑touch client service are prioritized.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of tax professionals in a high‑performance, supportive environment
- Partner with senior leadership on recruiting, training, and ongoing professional development
- Foster a collaborative culture focused on excellence and continuous learning
- Manage and review complex tax returns for:
- Individuals
- Trusts
- Partnerships
- Corporations
- Private foundations
- International entities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and applicable international tax regulations
- Develop and implement proactive tax strategies aligned with client financial and personal goals
- Build trusted relationships with clients and serve as a primary tax advisor
- Provide guidance on year‑end planning, estate & gift strategies, and specialized planning opportunities
- Advise senior leadership on tax implications related to investments, transactions, wealth planning, and major financial decisions
- Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulatory guidance
- Deliver high‑quality review and oversight while supporting firm‑wide best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
- Active CPA license required
- Minimum 8 years of tax compliance and planning experience
- At least 1 year in a leadership/management capacity
- Experience supporting high‑net‑worth or UHNW clients strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax law
- Proven ability to manage complex tax engagements and deliver strategic guidance
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship‑building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with major tax/accounting platforms a plus (e.g., CCH or similar)
