Position: Purchase Ledger Assistant (FTC)

Based in Glasgow. Our hybrid working approach allows the opportunity to combine working from home as well as in our offices.

REPORTING TO

Cashroom Manager

JOB PURPOSE

To work as a member of the Cashroom team, helping achieve the unit’s objectives in providing an efficient and effective service to the firm’s clients, partners and colleagues.

CORE TASKS
  • Processing high volume purchase invoices, accurately.
  • Match batching and coding of invoices.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Dealing with supplier queries quickly and efficiently.
  • Liaising with Managers for authorisation of invoices.
  • Daily/Monthly payments of suppliers (cheques & electronic payments).
  • Filing.
  • Undertakes ad hoc tasks when necessary under the direction of the Senior Managers.
  • Processing expenses
  • Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times.

  • Excellent understanding of Purchase Ledger process.
  • Highly motivated individual.
  • Energetic and hard working.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Adopts a flexible and proactive approach to work duties.
  • Works as part of a team to provide an effective service to the practice area.
  • Presents a professional image to internal customers and external organisations at all times.
SKILLS
  • Good understanding of VAT rules.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Organises and prioritise time effectively to achieve deadlines.
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
