Financial Consultant, Risk Manager/Analyst, Portfolio Manager
Themes ETFs, a fast-growing ETF issuer, is seeking a Analyst to join our ETF Portfolio Management team. As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, and our other benefits include but are not limited to 401(k) matching, health insurance, and PTO.
The ideal candidate will be an independent and analytical self-starter with a passion for the ETF industry. As a member of the Portfolio Management Team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects across portfolio management, trading & operations, and play an important role in the growth of our company.
Main Responsibilities- Manage ETF investment portfolios, executing trades and implementing tailored investment strategies across equities, derivatives, and other instruments
- Oversee all facets of ETF portfolio management, including index changes, corporate actions, cash management, and basket creation
- Trade and manage derivative exposures such as FLEX options and Total Return Swaps, optimizing leverage, tracking, and risk-adjusted performance
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of SEC regulations, particularly Rule 18f‑4, ensuring all derivative usage and risk models remain in full regulatory compliance
- Coordinate closely with brokers, swap counter parties, fund accountants, custodians, and index providers to ensure seamless portfolio operations
- Reconcile daily fund NAVs against benchmark indices and accounting records to ensure accuracy
- Attribute performance and identify key sources of risk relative to the benchmark
- Enhance portfolio trading workflows and improve technology infrastructure to drive efficiency
- Maintain relationships with index providers and ensure accurate application of index methodologies and best practices
- Oversee daily primary market operations, including creation and redemption activity
- Conduct quantitative analysis of ETF creation/redemption baskets to boost fund liquidity and enhance secondary market pricing
- Provide support to Authorized Participants, market makers, and exchanges to optimize trading and market quality
- Design, structure, and price investment solutions through deep research and data‑driven analysis
- Monitor market developments and product trends, delivering original insights in collaboration with industry partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in ETF portfolio management required
- At least 1 year of experience using VBA, ideally within an asset management firm focused on building scalable tools and reducing operational risk
- Working knowledge of the U.S. ETF regulatory landscape, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act, and applicable SEC regulations
- Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working within a start‑up culture
- Ability to work remotely during U.S. East Coast business hours, with occasional travel to Europe
