, a rapidly expanding national family law firm, is seeking an experienced and detailed Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s financial operations, including general ledger activities, reconciliations, compliance filings, and collaboration with cross‑functional partners. This is a full‑time, remote position reporting to the Senior Accountant.

This role is remote, but the Staff Accountant must reside in Colorado or Texas.
- Record daily banking and financial transactions with accurate general ledger coding.
- Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations, including operating and trust accounts.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and proactively research and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month‑end close activities to ensure accurate and complete financial statements.
- Research and complete required state and local filings across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist with year‑end compliance activities, including preparation and filing of 1099s.
- Maintain organized documentation to support audits, reviews, and regulatory requirements.
- Support accounts payable processes, including vendor setup, invoice review, coding, and processing.
- Ensure invoices are reviewed and approved in accordance with firm policies and internal controls.
- Assist with vendor relationship management and issue resolution as needed.
- Partner with Accounts Receivable team members on collections, trust replenishment, and reconciliations.
- Assist with resolving client chargebacks, billing discrepancies, and payment issues.
- Support accurate tracking and reporting of client‑related financial activity.
- Assist the CFO and Senior Accountant with financial analysis, reporting, and supporting data as requested.
- Participate in cross‑training and serve as backup support for Finance team members.
- Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements as the firm scales.
- Support special projects and ad‑hoc analyses as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an accounting or finance role required.
- Experience in a multi‑location or multi‑state organization preferred.
- Experience in the legal industry strongly preferred.
- Customer service experience a plus.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting, billing, and financial systems such as Quick Books, Time Solv, Law Pay, and Salesforce preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in an interrupt‑driven setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, vendors, and clients.
