Transactional Finance Manager

Transactional Finance Manager - 12-month FTC We're supporting a complex, well-established organisation as they appoint a Transactional Finance Manager r on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is remote-first, with travel to the Bristol office around 1 day per month. This is a highly specific requirement. The only candidates of interest will have worked in a legal environment and have strong, hands-on experience using SOS (Solicitors Own Software).

SOS is central to the role and day-to-day decision-making. Without it, this role will not be a fit. You'll be trusted to take ownership, bring structure, and provide calm leadership during a period of change. The role offers flexibility, autonomy, and genuine impact, without constant office presence. How you'll make an impact Keep core finance operations running smoothly across billing, AR, AP, credit control and supplier payments Act as the SOS subject-matter expert, maintaining controls, workflows and reporting integrity Authorise payment runs and oversee banking activity, including daily bank reconciliations Own daily cashflow forecasting and short-term liquidity planning Lead rota planning to ensure full operational coverage across teams Oversee and sign off client and trust account reconciliations Produce management information, KPIs and financial control reporting Support complex billing issues and month-end billing cycles Provide oversight of debt, revenue control and credit control reporting Act as an escalation point, resolving issues quickly and pragmatically Why you're a great fit Essential:
Proven experience as a finance lead or senior finance lead within a legal environment Extensive, hands-on experience using SOS (Solicitors Own Software) Strong understanding of legal billing, client accounts and trust accounting Confident managing financial controls, reconciliations and operational risk A steady, supportive leader who can manage teams remotely and in person Desirable:
Experience supporting finance teams during system change or transformation Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed financial data What you'll get in return As Transactional Finance Manager, you'll join a business that values trust, flexibility and delivery.
