Position: Trainee Finance Analyst (Mostly Remote)

£32k to £36k | Permanent | Large National Charity | Largely Remote

Turn numbers into decisions that really matter. Join a commercial finance team where your analysis shapes strategy, supports growth, and directly impacts a nationally recognised charity.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data to build a career in commercial finance. You’ll work across multiple income streams, producing insight that informs key business decisions and drives real outcomes.

Why this Finance Analyst role will accelerate your career:

  • Make your work matter – your analysis will influence pricing, performance, and investment decisions across the organisation.
  • Develop high-value skills – handle large datasets, build financial models, and deliver insight that senior leaders rely on.
  • Learn from experienced professionals – receive mentoring from the FP&A team while gaining real commercial finance experience.
  • See your impact – your reports and recommendations will guide decisions that affect the charity’s growth and sustainability.

What you’ll do:

  • Analyse trends and performance across business areas to provide actionable insight.
Your work will help senior leaders make smarter decisions.
  • Build scenario models and forecasts to test commercial and operational options.
You’ll see how your analysis informs real strategy.
  • Support budgeting, KPI reporting, and performance analysis.
Your input will help the charity plan and allocate resources effectively.
  • Transform large, complex datasets into clear, actionable intelligence.
Your insights will be relied on daily by colleagues across the organisation.

What you’ll need:

  • 1–2 years’ experience producing meaningful analysis (beyond basic reporting).
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables.
  • Curiosity to question numbers, not just report them.
  • Ability to explain insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Open to candidates from any sector - commercial, public, or not-for-profit experience all considered.

(Qualifications are flexible - analytical thinking, attitude, and potential matter most.)

Predominantly remote, with home working as standard. Attendance is required once per quarter for a finance collaboration day, with occasional office days if needed. Flexibility is available for those who prefer more office time.

This is a chance to launch your commercial finance career while making a real impact. Apply now to join a nationally recognised charity and see your analysis shape real business decisions.
