Overview

Commodities Business Operational Risk Analyst – This is an exciting opportunity within Macquarie's Commodities & Global Markets First Line Risk Management Team in Houston, supporting its growing global business. The desk works directly with end-to-end business stakeholders to ensure key non-financial risks are identified, assessed, managed and monitored. The Business Operational Risk Manager is responsible for facilitating continued improvement in processes, controls, risk awareness and culture across our businesses.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone – no matter what role – contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

With a strong background in physical and financial commodities markets, you will be required to partner with the trading desks and leverage your experience to develop a deep knowledge of front-to-back business processes. You will be responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, reporting and managing the associated non-financial risks. You will also provide advice on a broad range of risk matters, assess new product- and business initiatives, investigate incidents, test the effectiveness of controls and support actions arising from regulatory reviews and audits.

Day-to-day you will own risk actions and issues for resolution, influencing and collaborating with stakeholders from across the trade lifecycle to mitigate risks appropriately.

What you offer
  • A strong background in commodity markets, in both physical and financial products, with 3+ years of commodity markets experience. Backgrounds in Commodities, Financial Markets, Structured Trade Finance, or Trading would be of interest. Big 4 experience is a plus.
  • A demonstrable understanding of non-financial risks in a regulated business and ability to contribute to robust control design and experience with designing, implementing, and executing control assurance programs.
  • Experience leading change projects and contributing to high performing teams.
  • A high achievement drive, with strong resilience and tenacity, an innovative mindset, and the ability to collaborate and influence effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us. If you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie, we encourage you to apply.

What we offer

At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that’s rewarding in all the ways that matter most to you. Macquarie employees can access a wide range of benefits which, depending on eligibility criteria, include:

  • 1 wellbeing leave day per year and a minimum of 25 days of annual leave
  • 20 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary caregivers along with 12 days of paid transition leave upon return to work and 6 weeks’ paid leave for secondary caregivers
