About the RoleWe are working with a well‑established accountancy and advisory firm seeking a Personal Tax Senior/Supervisor to join their growing personal tax team. This is a hands‑on role overseeing a portfolio of diverse clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and internationally mobile professionals.
You will be responsible for both compliance and ad‑hoc advisory work, with opportunities to develop expertise in international personal tax alongside UK‑focused matters.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, acting as their main point of contact.
- Request and collate tax return information from clients or audit teams.
- Prepare and review complex personal tax returns using specialist software (CCH).
- Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients, including handling enquiries.
- Monitor WIP and raise bills promptly.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and develop new business from your portfolio.
- Attend client meetings and contribute to consultancy projects.
- Draft letters and reports for a wide range of audiences, presenting findings to clients.
- Undertake technical research in areas such as remittance basis, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trusts.
- ATT or CTA qualified.
- Strong experience in personal tax compliance, with exposure to international tax matters (expatriate or cross‑border assignments).
- Demonstrable experience across multiple tax cycles.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and research platforms (e.g., Croner‑i, Lexis Nexis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of CCH Personal Tax software.
- Previous client‑facing experience.
- Strong report and letter writing skills.
- Confident dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
