Financial Manager
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Tender & Project Controlling Specialist (Senior Project Controller). You’ll be responsible for business partnering to Project Management in all financial and commercial matters and actively drive the project’s performance. The role can be assigned to one or multiple smaller projects. Ensure financial performance for each project by preparing financial analyses, ensuring cost controls, providing recommendations for financial decisions, and serving as the main finance representative for the assigned project(s).
Work with different expertise within the financial areas to optimise project performance while being mindful of remaining risks. Collaborate with other functions to proactively reach effective business decisions.

Location and Travel: Ideally, you will be based or local to one of our office sites in Birmingham or Glasgow. The role is remote-based with an expectation to travel to sites in the UK.
How You Will Make an Impact ComplianceSupport the Project Manager in adherence to corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal control, group charter, tax directives and financial instructions.
Project ExecutionProvide input to the Project Execution Plan on financial aspects and update it as responsible for the Project Cost & Finance Management Plan. Prepare project invoices, financial accounting and reporting (including site accounting). Pursue optimisation of project cash flow, revenues and GM contribution together with the Project Manager. Oversee currency risk, bonds, guarantees, and tax issues. Handle variation orders, provide financial inputs to line reporting, assess petty cash account and payments, and follow up on scope.
Keep the project balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and monthly/quarterly forecasts accurate.
Participate in opportunity/risk identification and ensure timely implementation of mitigation actions. Jointly with the Project Manager, manage all financial aspects of the project – including EAC and cost-to-complete, forecasted revenues and cash flow, risk/opportunity assessment – and coordinate with Project Controls, planning/scheduling. Support monthly project reviews, prepare project cost reports, verify cost-to-complete, create customer report inputs, and support internal and external audits.
CommercialTerms
Provide support on claim management, back-charges and insurance cases, and monitor proper follow-up with the Contract Manager/Project Manager upstream (toward the customer), side-stream (toward consortia partner) and downstream (toward suppliers).
Your BackgroundRelevant industry experience in a similar or equivalent industry with project and/or tender controlling background. Financial knowledge with a finance degree.
