Senior FP&A Analyst (15 month FTC) – Formula 1

Location:

Media & Technology Centre, Biggin Hill (maternity cover for 15 months, potential for long‑term role).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Provide internal reporting to various stakeholders.
  • Control expenditures to ensure they align with approved budgets/forecasts.
  • Analyse and investigate variances between actuals and forecasts/budgets.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance, M&TC, supporting and liaising with stakeholders across the centre.
  • Review and enhance existing financial processes  procedures.
  • Evaluate and advise on the financial implications of potential projects and investment decisions.
  • Contribute to the consolidated annual budget and cash‑flow forecast for the Group.
  • Assist in writing the Group Budget Management Report.
  • Review departmental budget submissions, resolving discrepancies when liaising with preparers.
  • Update the GL with budget, forecast and other financial data.
  • Support staff in preparing their budgets.
  • Ensure a seamless transition to new fiscal years (chart of accounts, GL codes, procurement systems).
  • Assist in producing group reforecasts based on the most current information available.
  • Assist in writing Group reforecast management reports.
  • Complete month‑end tasks, including variances analysis, month‑end adjustments and reviewing transaction activity.
  • Assist with populating reports issued to M&TC managers and meet with managers to discuss performance.
  • Work closely with staff across M&TC to meet their financial information and control needs.
  • Analyse group and divisional budgets/forecasts against prior year/quarter.
  • Prepare financial reports and present to senior management.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to improve financial reports.
  • Provide specific financial information to senior management on an ad‑hoc basis.
  • Engage in ad‑hoc team project and development work.
Qualifications & Personal Qualities
  • Recently CIMA qualified.
  • History of excellent academic achievement and strong/graphql academic background from a well‑regarded university.
  • Experience in budget and forecast preparation.
  • Experience analysing actual financial performance against budgets/forecasts and providing meaningful, insightful reporting.
  • Stable employment history.
  • Good analytical and financial reporting skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Solid foundation of basic accountancy skills, including an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to support and build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Power Query (desirable).
  • Ability to leverage emerging technologies for collaboration (desirable).
  • Hard‑working, able to commit to wider team objectives and deliverables, often under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to work with stakeholders at various organisational levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and initiative, able to take direction or work independently.
  • Must be able to commute to the Biggin Hill office.
Location & Working Arrangements
  • Base:
    Formula 1’s Media & Technology Centre, Biggin Hill.
  • Occasional attendance at the head office in London’s West End may be required.
  • Predominantly office‑based with limited option for home working.
