Role Overview
Following in‑depth training, the candidate will work to a high level of accuracy within prescribed processes, focusing on client due diligence and KYC procedures. The position lies within the Financial Crime Compliance Team (FCC Team), Saffery’s risk management function.
Responsibilities- Completing ongoing client due diligence procedures to keep information up‑to‑date and compliant.
- Performing research with third‑party tools and systems as part of KYC procedures.
- Documenting and analysing KYC information to validate client data and assess client risk.
- When information is missing or not publicly available, interacting with stakeholders, including the client‑facing practice, to obtain necessary data.
- Completing ongoing monitoring / CDD refresh reviews to ensure KYC/CDD is current for existing clients.
- Experience in client onboarding / CDD within the accountancy or legal sector (not banking).
- Enthusiastic about personal development and able to look beyond surface when situations are unclear.
- Strong ability to digest information and deliver high‑standard work, highly motivated and confident working independently yet open to support from team members.
- Adaptive and open‑minded when plans change.
- Excellent communication skills, confident in conversations with high‑level stakeholders both in person and on the phone.
- Proficient in multitasking across several IT applications, with a minimum of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong literacy and numeracy, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work to specified KPIs and meet demanding deadlines.
- Ability to absorb and build an understanding of complex information and articulate it in a specified format.
- 35‑hour working week with core hours 10am‑4pm; flexible working with option to work from home up to 3 days per week.
- 25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day after 5 years’ service.
- Option to buy or sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
- Contributory pension scheme – firm contributes 5% of salary on a matched basis from date of joining.
- Life assurance cover of 4× annual salary.
- Eligibility for Profit‑Sharing Plan (October–September), typically around £1,000 paid in December.
- Client referral scheme – up to 10% of first year’s fees for new client introductions.

This role is based in our London office and requires the successful candidate to be within commuting distance to attend the office twice a week.
