Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Key Responsibilities- Budget Management
- Lead the annual grant budget development and modification process and ensure compliance with all internal fiscal policies and grant funder requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Practice Grants and Contracts colleagues to establish priorities, timelines, and feedback processes for accurate and timely budget completion.
- Prepare and submit annual grant level budgets and monitor and submit mid‑year budget modifications to ensure effective and compliant grant spending.
- Conduct monthly reviews of actual spending against approved budgets and recommend budget modifications or adjustments as needed.
- Financial Forecasting & Planning
- Create and submit accurate, timely, and actionable grant level and summary level financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management.
- Recommend budget or spending adjustments to minimize budget modifications while ensuring full utilization of awarded grant funds.
- Act as financial liaison to Practice areas regarding spending at the grant and contract level, forecasting, and planning.
- Financial Reporting, Analysis & Data Management
- Maintain and update monthly grant level financial forecasts, incorporating the latest actuals and operational insights.
- Develop, implement, and refine forecasting methodologies to improve accuracy and maintain regular recurring basis.
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to ensure salary, headcount, and other personnel data is consistent and accurate across the organization.
- Lead regular financial review meetings with Practice partners to review year‑to‑date spending versus budgets and recommend any required changes based on the analysis.
- Review and validate large, complex datasets from multiple sources using Excel, Microsoft Office Suite tools, and other financial systems.
- Prioritize and manage frequent, high‑impact ad‑hoc analyses and special projects in a fast‑paced, grant‑driven environment.
- Financial Process Improvement
- Create, modify, and update financial and grant management reports as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the financial reporting and planning cycles by leveraging workflow automation and reporting capabilities.
- Provide strong technical and analytical support to members of the FP&A team.
- Train new members in new processes, tools, or procedures.
- Document all processes and procedures and keep the documentation up to date.
- Team Development & Supervision
- Supervise and support direct reports, schedule work hours, assign responsibilities, and handle time off and remote work schedule requests in accordance with LAS policies.
- Conduct management and supervision practices that affirmatively support equity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Provide feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.
- Identify training and development opportunities and ensure completion of required training.
- Delegate, document, and standardize roles, responsibilities, and procedures to support departmental goals.
- Identify and implement management and accountability practices to improve performance.
- Address employee concerns, conflict, complaints, and union concerns with guidance from Human Resources.
- Lead and support organizational and cultural change for the unit.

- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience; candidates with the equivalent of 9+ years of post‑secondary education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
