Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant will work with various departments and teams to ensure proper management of financial records, prepare reports in a timely manner, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. He/she plays a crucial role in the financial strategy of the company. The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of analysis, budget management, GAAP accounting, SOX compliance, auditing and business logistics with high proficiency utilizing accounting software.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other financial reports
- Examining and analyzing financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, resource allocations, and strategy
- Conduct internal audits to verify the accuracy and consistency of financials and identify potential areas for adjustment and improvement
- Assist with financial statement audits
- Assist with GAAP accounting and SOX compliance
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- 3-5+ years experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA required
- Must possess strong analytical skills and be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Must be positive, friendly and professional.
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
- Must demonstrate professional communication in reaching out to employees and managers for needed documents.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as they arise.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize various tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
- Able to perform duties independently.
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
- Mid-Level Position
- Work will be performed in flex hybrid home/office setting - must be in the Austin area, with 2-3 days being performed at the office per week.
- Full time, salary. May require availability for overtime hours.
- This position will collaborate with the finance team and report to the CFO.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Requires periodic participation and attendance at company events and meetings.
- This position is Full Time.
- The pay structure for this role will be based on a salary (exempt) determined by experience.
