How You’ll Contribute

As an Actuarial Associate, Valuation, you will support statutory and tax valuation activities for life and annuity products, contributing to accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the Actuarial Valuation team and cross‑functional partners to perform modeling, valuation analysis, and cash flow testing while continuing to build actuarial expertise. This role is well suited for an early‑career actuary who is detail‑oriented, curious, and motivated to grow technical and regulatory knowledge in a collaborative environment.

What

You’ll Do
  • Support the conversion and enhancement of actuarial valuation systems.
  • Assist with the development and testing of P  valuation models in ALFA and related actuarial systems.
  • Help establish asset modeling techniques and project asset cash flows.
  • Support integration and valuation of new products within corporate in‑force models.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly statutory valuation results and explain period‑over‑period movements.
  • Research and monitor actuarial guidelines, regulations, and publications to support compliance.
  • Assist with annual cash flow testing and monitoring of valuation results.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and regulatory inquiries.
  • Maintain documentation and controls supporting valuation models and reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to support departmental and company objectives.
What You’ll Bring Education

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Experience

1+ year of actuarial experience.

Exposure to life insurance and/or fixed indexed annuity products preferred.

Successful completion of at least two Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams required.

Ongoing progress toward actuarial credentials encouraged and supported.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling software such as ALFA or ARCVAL.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to explain actuarial results to non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Physical Requirements

Primarily sedentary work involving computer use.

Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and discussions.

Occasional lifting of light materials (up to 20 lbs.).
