  • Analyst – Investment 15: $65,172 - $86,898 annually plus a performance-based incentive.
  • Associate – Investment 16: $74,297 - $99,063 annually plus a performance-based incentive.
Location

Fin Dev Canada headquarters in downtown Montreal. Candidates based in Ottawa or Toronto considered with a hybrid model (home/office).

Position & Team Overview

Fin Dev Canada’s Portfolio Management Team is part of the Investments Team, responsible for originating, structuring, documentation, credit approval, closing, and managing tailored financial solutions to private sector companies contributing to sustainable development.

The Portfolio Management team’s core task is supervising the portfolio from post-closing to final repayment, coordinating with other business units. The Analyst/Associate supports Investment Officers in portfolio management activities, including financial and credit analysis and monitoring contractual compliance.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Transaction Management:
    Contribute to portfolio activities, including spreading financial statements, reviewing covenant compliance, processing waivers, amendments, consents, and disbursement requests.
  • Covenant Compliance:
    Track counter parties' covenants to ensure compliance.
  • Investment Reviews:
    Support Investment Officers with annual reviews, credit rating updates, and periodic valuations.
  • Documentation Review:
    Review loan, equity, fund, and project finance documentation for compliance.
  • Process Improvement:
    Assist in developing and reviewing portfolio management processes.
  • Communication & Reporting:
    Participate in internal discussions and external stakeholder engagement.
What We Are Looking For Must-haves
  • Experience
    :
    • Analyst – 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Associate – 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Educational Background
    :
    Undergraduate Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Key Skills
    :
    • Strong analytical, quantitative, financial modelling and conceptual skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen Interest
    :
    • In development finance and working in a multicultural environment.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Language Proficiency
    :
    • Bilingual in French and English.
    • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Experience
    :
    • Process development and documentation.
    • Financing transactions in emerging and developing markets.
