Accounts Payable Accountant to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) + excellent benefits

We are hiring for a leading independent Oil & Gas exploration and production company. They are a dynamic and growing force in the sector with a global portfolio and a highly collaborative team based in a modern City of London office.

As their dedicated Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be the cornerstone of the payables function. You’ll ensure the accurate and timely processing of all supplier payments, uphold robust financial controls, and manage key relationships within their joint‑venture structure. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is central to their finance operations.

• Take full ownership of the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable cycle.
• Process purchase invoices, staff expenses, and credit card reconciliations with precision.
• Manage supplier accounts, from setup to reconciliation and query resolution.
• Prepare and execute payment runs, and complete bank reconciliations.
• Uphold strong internal controls and ensure compliance within a JV environment.
• Support the wider finance team with audit requests and ad‑hoc tasks.

• SUN REPORTING EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL *
• Strong technical skills: proficiency in SUN Systems and advanced Excel.
• Solid understanding of Joint Venture accounting principles.
• A highly organised, detail‑oriented professional with a true ownership mindset.
