Position SummaryRadsource is a growing teleradiology physician practice and radiology PACS company, seeking an experienced Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and oversee financial reporting, payroll, and practice financial performance. This position is ideal for a hands‑on finance leader who thrives in a physician/healthcare service environment and has experience supporting a private equity‑backed organization. The Controller will play a critical role in strengthening financial controls, driving process improvement, and supporting the strategic growth of the practice.
This is a remote position, with the requirement to be on‑site in our Brentwood, TN office periodically per month for meetings and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting- Lead the monthly close process and prepare accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain consistent accounting practices across the organization.
- Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
- Develop and maintain reporting packages and dashboards for leadership, board of directors, and stakeholders.
- Oversee audit and tax support (as applicable), coordinating with external CPA partners as necessary.
- Partner with leadership to build and manage annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to support profitability, growth, and operational decision‑making.
- Support strategic initiatives including physician and staff compensation models, staffing changes, and expansion planning.
- Oversee payroll administration and ensure accurate payroll processing, tax compliance, and reporting.
- Understand and support payroll nuances in business and physician practices (e.g., physician compensation, bonuses, stipends, 1099 vs. W2 considerations, etc.).
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to ensure payroll accuracy and timely issue resolution.
- Oversee the 401K Retirement and Profit Sharing plan’s terms and conditions for the company.
- Understand and support medical malpractice and commercial liability plans.
- Understand and support corporate state business registrations.
- Oversee AP and AR processes, including vendor management and collections strategy.
- Work cohesively with the Staff Accountant on all accounting processes as a working manager, supporting a coach‑up mentality for the team.
- Ensure proper classification and documentation of expenses.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain strong cash management practices.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, compliance, and procedures.
- Support the financial requirements of a private equity‑backed organization (e.g., reporting expectations, tighter close cycles, KPI tracking, diligence requests, etc.).
- Improve systems and workflows to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller‑level responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, month‑end close, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing payroll operations.
- Experience in a physician practice, healthcare, medical services, or similar environment (required).
- Experience working in a private equity‑backed organization (strongly preferred).
- Strong proficiency with accounting systems and Excel (advanced).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote and onsite stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
