Our client was founded in 2003 to serve as the outsourced investment office to endowments and private foundations, with a focus on excellent investment returns and high-touch service. Managing assets of approximately $21 billion through 13 client relationships, our client is responsible for asset allocation and manager selection in multiple asset classes, including but not limited to fixed income, global public equities, credit, hedge funds, venture, and private equity.
The firm utilizes a hybrid schedule for in-person and remote work set by functional teams.
This professional will be an integral member of our client's Reporting & Analytics Team. Reporting to the Director of the group, this position will be primarily responsible for supporting a variety of performance analytics and reporting needs of
- Create, produce, and review all aspects of output for clients and the Investment Team, including monthly and quarterly performance reports, annual deep-dive performance reports, exposure reporting and analysis, benchmark and comparative analysis on asset classes, strategies, and managers, liquidity analytics, portfolio stress testing, and private portfolio modeling.
- Support the development and maintenance of proprietary data systems, applying statistical and quantitative methods in financial modeling and performance analytics.
- Lead training sessions for the members of other teams across the firm who need and use firms’ reporting and risk software applications
- Be proactive in offering thoughts around investment performance and risk concepts; be engaged on new ideas and trends around performance reporting within the industry.
- Become proficient in using various proprietary performance, risk, and accounting tools and developing financial models.
- Apply or be willing to learn statistical analysis and data mining techniques using Python or a similar language, along with other database tools, in order to add value to the team deliverables.
- Handle a variety of ad-hoc data projects, as needed, with high attention to detail.
- Provide support and quality control to reconciliation efforts to ensure data quality for external and internal deliverables and reporting.
- Assist the team as needed on the implementation of new tools and tool integration into the wider data framework.
- 3+ years of relevant experience is required, 6+ years for Associate level
- Bachelor’s degree with proven academic achievement required; a focused degree in math, science, computer science, economics or finance preferred
- Proficient using standard office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Power user of Excel; basic knowledge of SQL and familiarity with Python or Julia is a strong plus
- Knowledge of alternative investment industry strategies, products, analytics, metrics, and portfolio analysis
- Ability to communicate internally (and in written form) insights and takeaways from investment performance results
- Strong attention to detail in quantitative and financial analysis
- Skills necessary to create appropriate schedules for timely and accurate delivery of reports and analysis
- Experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse and dynamic team, particularly the Client Team and Investment Team
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
