Position OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Finance Director to manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) analysis, tax preparation, international tax compliance, Quick Books Online (QBO) management, cash flow, and financial forecasting. This is a fully remote role, offering flexibility to work from anywhere within Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management:
- Oversee all fiscal operations, ensuring compliance with Canadian and international financial regulations.
- Supervise accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
- Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for potential M&A opportunities.
- Work closely with leadership to assess the financial and strategic fit of potential acquisitions.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file corporate income and sales tax returns for both Canadian and U.S. operations.
- Stay current with international tax laws to ensure compliance with all relevant tax policies.
- Financial Systems Management:
- Oversee Quick Books Online (QBO) management for accurate financial reporting and bookkeeping.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data within the system.
- Cash Flow and Forecasting:
- Manage cash flow to maintain the financial stability of the organization.
- Develop and maintain profit and loss (P&L) statements and cash flow forecasts to inform decision‑making.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in Quebec.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role.
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online (QBO) and other financial management software.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax laws, along with international tax regulations.
- Experience with financial analysis for mergers and acquisitions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with strong self-motivation and discipline.
- Bilingual fluency in French and English is required.
