Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Vaco Richmond is currently assisting a stable, growing company located in Richmond, VA with its search for a Controller
. This role is on-site 4 days a week with some flexibility to work from home one day a week and great work/life balance.

The Controller position will manage a small accounting team, report to the President, and work closely with the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee financial projections, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor cash flow, manage financial forecasting, and support strategic planning initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tax regulations, and changes in accounting standards.
• Responsible for bi-weekly payroll and implementation and management of various benefit programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Proven experience as an accounting manager or controller, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
• 7+ years of experience with preference given to those with a manufacturing and/or retail background
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills.
• Proficiency in Net Suite and Microsoft Excel.
