Apex's Operations division manages complex middle and back office custodial and clearing services on behalf of our clients. We are seeking a Manager, Operations (Margins & Cashiering) to support our Cash Management team responsible for risk prevention, status confirmation, and education of policies and procedures related to money movement. Our mission is to execute at an elite level, owning every client interaction, delivering one‑call resolution, protecting clients' interests from fraud while mitigating risk to the firm.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Effectively manage and coach others, evaluating risk when reviewing client accounts requesting fund disbursements including check requests, deposits, domestic and international wires.
- Perform detailed work communicated in a clear, effective manner.
- Actively listen, assess specialists' and clients' needs, research information, and provide “outside of the box” solutions.
- Problem‑solve and conduct research/special requests through email, telephone and our internal inquiry system.
- Resolve escalations to clients' satisfaction, taking action quickly in a high‑risk environment to mitigate risk to the firm.
- Proactively educate specialists, clients and internal partners on our products and services.
- Drive business initiatives and results by developing strong partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business administration (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years’ experience in brokerage/financial industry with emphasis on customer service or securities processing.
- 2+ years experience as a people manager preferred.
- FINRA SIE and Series 99 License(s) required (or willingness to obtain);
Series 7 preferred.
- Passion for service and desire to help and develop people.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen and explain complex subjects in simpler terms.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to be a model and mentor to peers.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory, audit, and compliance policies in the securities industry.
- Excellent operational and follow‑up skills with ability to manage complex work, self‑directed and quickly develop full understanding of the business.
- Positive attitude, team‑oriented, enthusiastic, professional, forward thinker and strong work ethic.
- This job operates in a hybrid office environment, 3 days per week.
