Job Title: Cost Accountant

Location: Hybrid (On-site at a manufacturing/warehouse facility in Exton, PA, with remote flexibility)

Work Schedule: Hybrid model; number of remote days per week to be determined based on team and business needs.

Position Summary:

This role is part of the Finance Team and is responsible for inventory and cost accounting activities at a manufacturing and warehouse site. The position involves analyzing and managing product costs, supporting accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency. The role requires independent work under the guidance of Finance leadership and does not include direct reports.

• Maintain and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Collaborate with operations and manufacturing to improve inventory management.
• Monitor product gross margins and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and compare actual vs. forecasted product costs.
• Determine and document inventory reserves.
• Manage monthly inventory accounting, adjustments, and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries for month-end close and ensure accurate system interfaces.
• Maintain the cost accounting system within the ERP platform (Net Suite).
• Coordinate annual inventory counts with external auditors.
• Generate ad-hoc reports related to COGS and inventory.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate cost data.
• Prepare audit schedules and support year-end audit activities.
• Serve as the primary contact for inventory-related matters across departments.

• Minimum of 4 years of cost accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Proficiency in Net Suite, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries is a plus.
• Strong understanding of cost and general accounting principles.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
