We are eagerly seeking a Tax Manager for a full-time, direct placement opportunity in Louisville, Kentucky. The Tax Manager is responsible for the review of tax returns prepared both internally and by outsourced firms. They are also responsible for research and application of new tax laws and working with other departments for implementation of tax strategies to make the company more tax efficient from a federal, state, local, and international perspective.
Local candidates preferred for this hybrid position that offers the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities- Responsible for completing analytical tax research and communicating with tax advisors to learn new tax legislation and determine how both new and existing legislation applies to our organizational structure
- Communicate with CPA firms to manage the completion of outsourced work and ensure it is completed in line with our high-quality standards
- Work with staff and seniors to determine how to best retrieve, compile, and organize detailed data to analyze for tax purposes and provide supporting documents to taxing jurisdictions
- Communicate with internal accounting department regarding transactions, accounting methods, and audits to determine the tax impact
- Communicate with taxing jurisdictions to resolve income and specialty tax notices, inquiries, and audits
- Responsible for projecting taxable income for planning and estimate purposes
- Assist with computation of tax depreciation as well as partner capital accounts
- Responsible for reviewing state and local returns both on a separate and unitary basis
- Coach, mentor, and teach tax staff, seniors, and interns to provide them with ample learning opportunities to grow in the tax field
- Provide high level, technical support to higher levels of management and other departments in any and all miscellaneous matters to improve efficiency of tax department
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; MBA is a plus
- CPA preferred
- 7+ years of relevant tax experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax software systems, with a strong accounting background and familiarity with other Microsoft Office product
- Strong presentation and speaking skills; strong written communication skills
- Confident self-starter who requires minimal supervision, comfortable with ambiguity and very adaptable
