Actuarial Senior Associate, Excess Casualty Pricing – REMOTE

Join Nationwide, a leader in the insurance industry, as an Actuarial Senior Associate in our Finance department. This fully remote role focuses on advanced actuarial pricing for excess casualty products.

• Serve as a technical expert in actuarial methodologies, conducting complex analyses and providing high‑level consultation.
• Lead cross‑functional peer reviews and develop comprehensive work plans.
• Build and maintain business relationships, leading onboarding and training initiatives.
• Document actuarial models and maintain detailed records of methodologies and assumptions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver actionable, data‑driven insights that inform strategic decisions.

• Minimum of five years of actuarial experience.
• ACAS certification, with FCAS desired or recently attained.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical software, and programming languages.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and developing strategic work plans.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.

Our P&C Actuarial team encourages innovation and mastery of actuarial methodologies. The role requires deep familiarity with business operations, actuarial models, and advanced analytical techniques, with responsibility for independent high‑level analysis and consultation.

• Acts as a technical expert in actuarial methodologies, sourcing and manipulating data within standard requirements.
• Conducts complex analyses, adhering to actuarial standards and making informed recommendations.
• Accurately documents assumptions, methods, sources, and considerations.
• Prepares and presents findings for technical and non‑technical audiences at senior leadership levels.
• Develops cross‑functional work plans to ensure accurate deliverables.
• Leads peer reviews to drive collaboration, quality, and innovation.
• Builds business relationships and leads cross‑functional communication with team members, customers, and partners.
• Leads onboarding and training for new associates and assists in creating training materials.
• Applies data mining techniques to identify new relationships and makes predictive modeling recommendations.

Reports to an Actuarial, Analytics, or Risk Management leader.

Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field. Minimum six or more years of actuarial experience, ACAS required, FCAS desired.
