Business Tax Services – Private Tax Manager (High Net Worth Individuals)
EY Private Tax is a growing practice that serves privately held companies and their owners. This role provides technical tax planning and compliance support to high‑growth private companies and high‑net‑worth individuals and their families.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Research tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies.
- Translate complex data from a range of sources into client‑ready insights and deliverables.
- Build long‑term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs to provide tailored service.
- Communicate complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and clients.
- Maintain expertise by continuously updating and sharing technical knowledge.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and confirming they have the tools and knowledge to excel.
- Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities to improve services and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, supported by significant tax, business, or financial planning experience.
- CPA certification or membership in the Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization.
- Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation.
- Experience with flow‑through entities (S‑Corporations, Partnerships, LLCs).
- Thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems.
- Experience with Gift, Estate, and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus.
- Commitment to continuing learning.
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills; confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to travel as needed; ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment.
- Proven record in a professional services environment.
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptable work style to collaborate with internal and client team members.
- Competitive base salary range: $106,500 – $195,100 (US). Location‑specific ranges provided for major markets.
