Summary:
The Commercial Portfolio Manager services, deepens, and retains assigned profitable customer relationships by proactively evaluating associated business risks and opportunities, following Huntington policies, procedures, and guiding principles. Primary responsibilities include processing new loan requests and continuously monitoring an assigned loan portfolio. The role works closely with Credit Analysts, Sales Executives, and Regional Credit Officers. This opportunity is within the Huntington Public Capital vertical, delivering financial solutions to the public sector including municipalities such as cities, counties, states, and public‑school districts.
and Responsibilities
- Prepare credit approvals involving written evaluations of borrowers’ financial condition and proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
- Analyze a borrower’s financial statements, security/repayment source, tax base/local economy, debt levels, and pension/OPEB.
- Collect and track financial statements.
- Perform timely and accurate annual reviews and risk ratings.
- Assist Sales Executives in the acquisition of new relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 3+ years of experience in a Commercial Credit Analyst, Underwriter, or Portfolio Manager role or relationship management.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated success structuring and underwriting commercial credit.
- High level of professionalism.
- Prior experience in a high-volume credit or underwriting role.
- Demonstrated confidence, assertiveness, professionalism, and ability to interact with colleagues of all levels.
- Ability to analyze financial data and narrative information quickly and thoroughly.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workflow, plan, and provide consistent follow‑up.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High motivation and focus.
- Strong orientation toward goals.
Office (with flexible work arrangement options). The role may involve in‑office and remote work depending on hiring team decisions.
Exempt StatusYes (not eligible for overtime pay).
CompensationAnnual salary range: $57,000 - $123,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. Eligible for incentive compensation plan and benefits including health insurance, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave, holidays, and paid time off.
