Senior Manager, State & Local Income Tax - Asset Management - (Remote Option)

Responsibilities- Provide tax compliance services to partnerships for Asset Management clients
- Deliver client service to multi‑state companies with state and local tax issues, including compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and controversies
- Assist multi‑state companies with state and local tax controversies, including preparing for discussions with auditors, representing clients at hearings and appeal meetings, and preparing protests
- Research and draft technical memoranda on state and local tax questions
- Assist with business development, management, and delivery of SALT services, and provide oversight on large client project engagements
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members and teams
- Assist multi‑state companies with analyzing state tax considerations/impacts related to business restructuring projects and intercompany transactions
- Develop cross‑functional relationships within the firm
- Minimum five years of recent experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi‑state tax issues
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; if none of the approved designations are possessed at hire, one year to obtain at least one designation
- Able to develop business and foster client relationships
- Strong writing, communication, and tax research skills; ability to work in a high‑energy team environment
- Prior experience in Partnership and/or Asset Management
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in providing tax research and technical advice on multi‑state issues
- Strong knowledge of the development, planning, and execution of client delivery
- Experience with various other state and local taxes
