EY Private Tax is a growing practice that serves privately held companies and their owners, from family‑owned startups to multi‑billion‑dollar global enterprises. As a manager, you will be a trusted advisor providing technically sophisticated tax planning and compliance solutions across a diverse portfolio of clients.

• Research tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies.
• Translate complex data from a range of sources into client‑ready insights and deliverables.
• Build long‑term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs to provide a tailored service.
• Communicate complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and clients.
• Maintain your reputation in the field by constantly updating and sharing your technical knowledge.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and helping them acquire the knowledge, tools and opportunities to excel.
• Identify and act on risks and opportunities to improve our services and processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with significant tax, business or financial planning experience.
• CPA certification or membership in the bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional services or tax organization experience.
• Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation.
• Experience with flow‑through entities (S‑Corps, partnerships, LLCs).
• A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems.
• Experience with gift, estate, and trust tax planning and compliance is a plus.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
• Excellent collaboration, negotiation, and confidence to challenge senior colleagues.
• Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.

• Proven record in a professional services environment.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with both internal and client team members.

• Interest in providing outstanding service to influential individuals, from C‑suite executives to owners and their families.
