Equity Associate

Cortina Capital Partners is seeking a driven Private Equity Associate with a background in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or consulting. The role involves significant hands-on experience across the entire investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal Sourcing: Identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities.
  • Due Diligence: Conducting thorough financial analysis and due diligence investigations.
  • Capital Raising: Assisting in creating marketing materials (investor presentations, data rooms) to support debt and/or equity fundraising.
  • Transaction Execution: Supporting transaction execution, including deal structuring, financial modeling, negotiation, and documentation. Collaborating with legal, financial, and operational teams.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitoring portfolio company performance, implementing strategic initiatives, and driving value creation. Preparing performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or consulting, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), leveraged finance, or financial advisory.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (proficient in Excel and PowerPoint), excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and effective teamwork.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, thrives in fast-paced environments, strong problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to excellence.

The position is based in Cortina Capital’s Fort Lauderdale, FL office, with occasional travel. After six months, a remote work option (2-3 days per week) may be available. The office dress code is casual.
