We are seeking an experienced Tax Associate to join our team and support our commitment to excellence in tax services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex tax matters to clients in an understandable manner. Your role will help clients optimize their tax strategies, minimize liabilities, and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws.
Key Responsibilities- Tax Preparation
- Use Quick Books Online (or other software) to gather and analyze client information for tax preparation and planning.
- Write and prepare year‑end adjustments to produce accurate and complete business tax returns and schedules.
- Prepare and file federal and state income tax returns (including forms 990, 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S).
- Review returns, communicate and help implement tax minimization strategies, prepare entity and personal tax projections, and research federal and state tax rules.
- Communication
- Develop trusted relationships with clients and respond promptly to them and the internal team.
- Maintain return status in Tax Dome and collaborate with other team members.
- Share tax knowledge with the team as needed and participate in weekly meetings and all‑staff monthly meetings.
- Liaise with the IRS and other regulatory bodies.
- Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely filing to meet all regulatory deadlines.
- Maintain detailed records of tax‑related activities and documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to uphold industry best practices and quality standards.
- Continuous Learning
- Stay current with developments in tax legislation, IRS regulations, and industry trends to provide up‑to‑date advice and services.
- CPA or EA certification
- Location in Eastern or Central time zones
