Salary: $23 per hour (approximately $47,840 per year
).

Role SummaryAs a Retirement Plan Specialist at Guidant Financial, you will begin by learning the full process to administer, test, and report on 401(k) plans. Through accelerated learning and practical experience, you will grow from document review to administering basic plans, reviewing client documents, and helping clients understand the year‑end reporting necessary to complete regulatory filings, including the IRS Form 5500.
What You’ll Be Doing- Work with clients to obtain information needed to prepare the annual reporting
- Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
- Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software for rollovers and plan stock
- Utilize administration software to perform 401(k) testing and reporting
- Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
- Prepare required 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software
- Educate clients about 401(k) plan administration and related documents
- Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply
- Training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I
- Performs other duties as required
- Must be 18 years of age
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem solving
- Strong customer service, organization, and collaboration skills
- Adequate math and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations preferred
- Ability to work autonomously in a self-directed environment
