Security Operations Lead

The Security Operations Lead will support the Trust Security Manager in delivering a safe and secure environment across all LYPFT sites. The post-holder will help lead, coordinate, and improve Trust-wide security operations, including incident management, access control, CCTV governance, contractor oversight, policy development, and site security assurance. They will act as a senior point of contact for operational security issues, deputising for the Security Manager where required and ensuring a consistent, professional approach to safety, compliance, and service delivery.

  • Support the day-to-day management and delivery of security services across LYPFT sites.
  • Deputise for the Trust Security Manager, providing leadership, decision‑making and operational oversight.
  • Lead on incident coordination, reporting, and post‑incident learning, ensuring timely actions and escalation.
  • Assist in the management of electronic security systems including CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarms.
  • Liaise with police, contractors, estates teams, clinical services and external partners to support safety and service continuity.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Trust security policies, procedures, training and audits.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on security, violence reduction and emergency response arrangements.
  • Support risk assessments, site inspections, compliance reviews and security improvement programmes.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Relevant security management qualification (e.g., Level 3/5 Security Management or equivalent experience).
Skills
  • Strong communication, leadership, incident management and problem‑solving skills.
Experience
  • Experience managing or supervising security operations in a complex environment.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of NHS security standards, violence reduction, CCTV governance and access control systems.
