We are a pioneering adventure brand with a long-standing reputation for delivering world-class live outdoor sports events and expeditions, built on meticulous planning, expert leadership and an uncompromising commitment to safety. In recent years, Rat Race has expanded fully onto the global stage, delivering bold, audacious concepts across the UK and internationally.

You’ll be joining a small, highly experienced core team who live and breathe adventure delivery. Everyone at Rat Race plays a hands-on role, takes real ownership, and contributes directly to the success of our events on the ground.

This role offers the flexibility of remote working, however candidates must be UK-based due to the nature of the role, travel requirements and operational responsibilities. UK and overseas travel is a fundamental part of the position.

The Role

The primary objective of this role is to project manage, lead, and physically deliver live outdoor sports events and small group adventures to Rat Race participants in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will take full ownership of a designated portfolio of trips and events, providing end-to-end project management from concept and planning through to on-the-ground delivery and post-event debrief.

This role requires demonstrable prior experience delivering live outdoor events, adventure races, mass participation sporting events, or guided expeditions

  • Serve as the operational point of contact for internal teams and third parties regarding event logistics and delivery detail.
  • Take ownership of specified operational administrative responsibilities that directly support live event delivery.
  • Championing industry-leading safety standards across all live activity.
  • Managing operational budgets and supplier relationships associated with event delivery.
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure operational detail is accurately reflected in marketing and participant communications.
  • Proven experience delivering live outdoor sports events or expeditions, such as:
    Adventure races;

Mass participation running, cycling or triathlon events.
  • Experience working on-the-ground during live events, not solely in a planning or office-based role.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to make calm, effective decisions under pressure in live environments.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and contractors during live delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with participants, staff, suppliers and the public.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving ability in dynamic outdoor environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work remotely.
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport.
  • Outdoor leadership or technical qualifications.
  • Experience working in remote or international environments.

  • 4-day working week (October – March)
  • Significant international travel opportunities

  • Friends and family discounts
  • Salary: £35,000 per annum + bonus scheme after probation
