Summary
Store Associates work independently or as part of a team in assigned retail areas of a commissary store within the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) system. Duties include handling, preparing, and stocking grocery and produce items, and checking out customer purchases.

- Assisting customers by answering questions such as item price or location, and handling bulky/heavy items.
- Operating an electronic checkout system to record unit price, total purchase, and make change.
- Handling, preparing, and maintaining stock levels of grocery and produce items.
- Reviewing stock levels and gathering inventory data for the Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) system.
- Preparing and maintaining documents for ordering commissary items, reconciling invoices, and submitting requisitions.
- Maintaining security, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures.
- U.S. citizen or national. Permanent Resident Card holders are not eligible for positions requiring U.S. citizenship.

Experience: One year of progressively responsible clerical or office work that demonstrates the ability to perform duties of this position.
Education: Two years of completed higher education above high school at an accredited institution. Transcripts required.
Combination: Calculate by dividing months of experience by 12 and semester hours by 60, add percentages. 100% or higher qualifies.
All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, may be considered.
