ResponsibilitiesStantec is seeking an experienced 3D Designer to join its Tailings Management team in Montreal. You will contribute to the design of complex infrastructure—including dams, embankments, ponds, and related structures—by leveraging advanced CAD expertise and working closely with project teams, in compliance with civil engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and production of 2D and 3D technical deliverables for civil works and tailings storage facilities, ensuring proper management of design data and adherence to discipline standards and guidelines.
- Work closely with project teams and related disciplines to resolve design issues, integrate required plan revisions, and ensure clear and consistent communication of technical deliverables.
- Ensure the quality, accuracy, and compliance of technical deliverables by adhering to applicable standards and codes, as well as maintaining rigorous and well-structured management of design files.

Your Background
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, preferably with demonstrated expertise in drafting and CAD technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience preparing design drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D
.
Technical Experience
- Experience in the design of tailings storage facilities (TSF), including embankments and related infrastructure.
- Knowledge of civil site development work: site services, earthworks, stormwater management, and road design.
- Familiarity with national and local codes related to site drainage and erosion control.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
Your keys to Success
- Knowledge or understanding of surveying principles.
- Proficiency with Muck3D software.
- Hands‑on experience on mining construction sites.
- Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and environmental responsibility.
- Additional professional certifications related to CAD (an asset).
