Environmental Technician
SCHEDULEFull-time, 40 hours per week plus overtime
- In Office (non-travel week):
Tuesdays to Fridays 7 am - 530 pm - Travel week:
Schedule varies
Oxford, AL with regular travel to sample sites. Most sites are out of state.
JOB DUTIES- Travel to collect water samples from various facilities by following written protocols, often on short notice.
- Travel to take field measurements of water (pH, temperature, etc.).
- Accurately document sampling activities and chain of custody forms.
- Maintain field equipment, calibrate meters, and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
- Ability to extensively travel up to 80% of the time.
- Ability to occasionally travel on Sundays.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Possess knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50-pound boxes.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work alone without direct supervision to accomplish tasks and goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the laboratory's management team.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
OTHER REQUIREMENTS- Must be authorized to work in the US & have documents for domestic air travel
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
Must have a good driving record - No remote work options
- Base: $20.23/hour
- Health and Welfare: $5.09/hour
