Baytex has an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Geologist, focusing on the Manville Heavy Oil fairway in the greater Lloydminster area. This full-time position is based in our Calgary office and reports directly to the Geosciences Manager, Heavy Oil Business Unit.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology.
• 8 to 10 years of geology experience, including:

- Wellsite geology or operations/geosteering background, with preferred experience in heavy oil horizontal, multilateral, and strat drilling.

- Familiarity with heavy oil water and/or polymer-enhanced oil recovery projects.

- Proven record in detailed appraisal of development prospects within the Cretaceous Mannville Group in the Lloydminster area.

• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with field and office staff.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Registered with APEGA and in good standing.
