Who is a Remote Studio Engineer at SMT?
Do you enjoy troubleshooting and working hands-on with technology? Do you love the rush of working in a fast-paced broadcast environment? If you answered yes to these questions, we have a great opportunity for you to join our team as a Remote Studio Engineer!
As a Remote Studio Engineer, you will provide complete technical support for broadcasts and events that are operated out of the Durham office. Your main focus will be overseeing the Remote Production Studio to deliver flawless SMT products daily. This role can be quite active at times and will require lifting and installing technology in our studio.
One of the key aspects of this role is it requires open availability including nights, weekends and holidays. Additionally, the role requires occasional travel for equipment installs or remote events, both domestically and internationally.
What is Your Daily Impact at SMT?
As a Remote Studio Engineer, you’ll be responsible for making some key plays here r impact will include:
- Enhance service value through advanced technical knowledge and communication with internal staff.
- Assist Broadcast Operators with technical issues or questions relating to computer hardware devices.
- Oversee daily equipment and production setup.
- Collaborate with Operations Managers, on-site Technicians, and Broadcast Operators to maximize operating efficiency of our systems and deliver client satisfaction.
- Advance event technical requirements with client technical representatives.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation.
- Provide excellent, client-focused customer service.
- Ensure the Remote Production Studio is always prepared for client visits.
What Do You Bring to SMT?
Here are some of the key skills and experiences we are looking for in our future game-changing teammate:
- BS in Computer Science, Sports Management, Television Production, Communications Studies, or comparable industry experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience in television or audio/video production.
- 1+ year(s) experience with streaming video/audio.
- Ability to make independent judgment decisions.
- Proficient technical skills.
- Basic network troubleshooting knowledge.
- Ability to interact with staff in a positive and tactful manner.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient computer knowledge (hardware and software).
- Proven ability to perform in a goal-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to obtain a passport preferred.
