Senior Engineer, Hydrology and Hydraulic – Dams and HydropowerMcMillen, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer, Hydrology and Hydraulic
, with a strong technical background to help deliver exceptional service to our clients. The ideal candidate is a proven Seller-Doer and a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with 15+ years of experience in water resources and extensive experience analyzing and evaluating dam structures.
- Develop, manage, and maintain client relationships.
- Identify project opportunities, actively pursue opportunities, and prepare proposals.
- Manage projects by establishing project deliverables, developing the project team, managing changes to project scope, establishing communication plans, and monitoring and controlling project work.
- Collection and analysis of field data, as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify critical areas for design criteria.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses in support of dam safety and hydroelectric projects.
- Utilize hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-Res Sim, FLOW3D or similar industry-standard software.
- Manage the scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of all project phases.
- Supervise the preparation of project reports, grant proposals, and other documentation for stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Resources focus preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field, with specific experience in dam removal or water resource management.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale environmental restoration projects.
- 15+ years of experience in water resources engineering with emphasis on design, hydrology and hydraulic engineering.
- Demonstrated experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses related to dams, reservoirs, spillways, and hydroelectric facilities.
- Demonstrated experience with civil design of hydraulic structures, such as diversions, spillways, fish screens, penstocks, and energy dissipation basins.
- Proficiency in environmental modeling software and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, GIS).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, contractors, and the public.
- Strong communication, technical and analytical skills
- Travel to project sites may be required.
- Flexible work schedule with both office and remote work options.
Pay Range: $165,000 – $250,000 (DOE)
