About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong civil engineering experience to take commercial ownership of major schemes across Yorkshire and the wider region. If you understand the realities of ground conditions, programme pressure, subcontractor management, and NEC risk allocation — and you enjoy being at the heart of delivery — this is your kind of role.
As Senior QS, you’ll take commercial responsibility for major schemes from pre‑contract through to final account. You’ll provide leadership to project teams, ensure robust cost control, and protect commercial performance while maintaining strong client relationships.
What you’ll be doingAs Senior QS, you’ll be the commercial lead on projects that matter. You’ll:
- Take full responsibility for cost control from pre‑construction to final account
- Administer and manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts with confidence
- Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and account management
- Own CVRs, forecasting, and reporting with clarity and accuracy
- Drive early identification and resolution of risk and change
- Support operational teams with pragmatic commercial advice
- Mentor and develop Assistant and Project Quantity Surveyors.
- Significant experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- A strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- A track record of managing high‑value, complex packages
- Experience dealing with self‑delivery and subcontractor models
- Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
- MRICS (or working towards) desirable.
